After its world premiere in Los Angeles in late 2018, the Jeep Gladiator made its European debut at the 2019 Camp Jeep in mid-July at San Martino di Castrozza where more than 1,200 Jeep owners and enthusiasts who got to admire the new model over three days of test-drives and events. This latest addition to the range features many of the marque’s signatures, such as the iconic front grille, round headlights and wheelarches inspired by the Wrangler of which it is an evolution. Jeep’s first new model in this major segment for 27 years after the Comanche which went out of production in 1992, the Gladiator comes with just one engine type here in Europe: the 3-litre EcoDiesel. Equipped with Engine Stop-Start ( ESS), this power unit unleashes 260 horses and 600 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox optimises power off-road and makes for smoother torque delivery on motorways. Off-roading brilliance further enhanced by two advanced 4x4 systems (Command-Trac and Rock-Trac), third generation Dana 44 axles, electronic sway bar disconnect and 32” off-road tyres. There are four variants available: Sport, Overland and Rubicon. The Gladiator arrives in EMEA region forecourts in 2020.
Presentata in anteprima mondiale a Los Angeles a fine 2018, la Jeep Gladiator ha fatto il suo debutto nel Vecchio Continente al Camp Jeep 2019 che si è tenuto a metà luglio a San Martino di Castrozza e a cui hanno partecipato più di 1200 persone. Durante la tre giorni di prove, test, corsi teorici ed eventi, i Jeep addicted hanno potuto ammirare il Gladiator che deve il nome dall’omonimo modello prodotto tra il 1963 e il 1987 e riprende gli stilemi tipici del marchio tra cui l’iconica griglia frontale, i fari anteriori rotondi e i passaruota trapezoidali che riportano subito alla Wrangler, di cui rappresenta l’evoluzione. Dopo 27 anni ( l’ultimo modello prodotto fu il Comanche prodotto fino al 1992) Jeep torna quindi in questo importante segmento con un nuovo modello. In Europa Gladiator sarà commercializzato con un’unica motorizzazione: l’EcoDiesel da 3,0 litri. Equipaggiato con il sistema Engine Stop-Start ( ESS), questo propulsore eroga 260 CV di potenza e 600 Nm di coppia. Il cambio è un automatico a 8 marce che permette di ottimizzare la potenza durante l’off-road e di beneficiare di un’erogazione regolare della coppia alle velocità autostradali. Capacità off-road di riferimento sono garantite da due avanzati sistemi 4x4 - Command-Trac e Rock-Trac, assali Dana 44 di terza generazione, bloccaggi elettrici degli assali anteriore e posteriore Tru-Lock, barra stabilizzatrice a scollegamento elettronico e pneumatici off-road da 32”. Tre gli allestimenti disponibili: Sport, Overland e Rubicon. La commercializzazione in territorio EMEA è prevista a partire dal 2020.
