A LARGE VILLA UNDER THE PINE FOREST
A RESIDENCE IN SAINT-TROPEZ, SIGNED BY SOUTH AFRICAN STUDIO SAOTA, CAPTURES THE SPARKLING LIGHT OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA
A large holiday home on the French Riviera as a modern interpretation of the traditional residential architecture, free from stylistic restrictions and local colour. “The starting point - says architect Stefan Antoni, director of Saota ( www.saota.com) to Ville&Casali - was to give space to light and outdoor life.”
A residence in Saint-Tropez, signed by South African studio Saota, captures the sparkling light of the French Riviera
A large holiday home on the French Riviera as a modern interpretation of the traditional residential architecture, free from stylistic restrictions and local colour. “The starting point - says architect Stefan Antoni, director of Saota ( www.saota.com) to Ville&Casalil - was to give space to light and outdoor life.” The site is long and narrow and overlooks a wooded clearing to the South. The house is located on two straight side wings that surround a central courtyard. The sleeping area takes up one wing and the upper level another, while the kitchen and dining room are on the lower floor. The main suite is reached by a staircase that starts from the large double-height volume of the living area, covered by a concrete wave ceiling with a finish reminiscent of a wooden texture. The materials of the interior finishes play on contrast: the raw concrete of the ceiling contrasts with the dark marble of the back walls, which is detached from the travertine floors and the lighter stone of the front part of the house. The elegant and simple furnishings were designed by Libre Architecture Concept.
