In Cortina you can ski much higher

From this year, a new ski lift will take you to Bus de Tofana at an altitude of 2,742 metres. The queen of the Dolomites is updating its lifts and many hotels thanks to internatio­nal investment The cycle path that crosses Cortina and runs right past the Ciasa Lorenzi hotel, and which ends in Dobbiaco (Toblach), in South Tyrol, after about 30 km, offers views of the Pomagagnon mountain to the north, the Tofane mountain group to the west and, looking back, the Cristallo mountain massif, Mount Faloria to the east and the Becco di Mezzodì to the south, the mountain next to Milan Cathedral in the promotiona­l artwork for the 2026 Winter Olympics. And now, in the run-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics, the pearl of Veneto is a hive of activity, with building sites and cranes everywhere and at least twenty new 4-star and 5-star hotels planned by converting existing resorts, redesignin­g the facilities offered to guests and notching up the glamour.
