A villa with patio that looks out onto nature

PROJECT

In Padua, architect Filippo Coltro has designed the interior and exterior of a residence with garden. In a warm, colourful and modern mix and match To build and furnish a family home on the site of a 1970s property for a couple of entrepreneurs and their two children: this was the brief fulfilled with style and originality by architect Filippo Coltro. The villa with patio is located in an upmarket residential area of Padua. From the outside, the villa is higher at the back, mimicking the gentle slope of the land.

As Filippo Coltro explains: “The interior and exterior space are a cohesive whole; the large patio is raised above the garden it overlooks, creating a kind of panoramic terrace with views of the surrounding landscape that can also be enjoyed from the kitchen and lounge all year round.” In the living area, the large sofa (by Arketipo) is backlit by a wide horizontal window that frames the surrounding greenery. Opposite the sofa is the essential line of the vertical fireplace (Venturato Giancarlo Caminetti). The crackling fire can also be appreciated from the dining table (Tulip by Saarinen) and kitchen (Twenty from Modulnova) on the other side. A common theme running through the villa is a fine collection of contemporary art, expertly chosen by Filippo Coltro together with his friend and art consultant Maurizio Pentimalli. Architect Coltro opted to install a walk-in wardrobe in all three bedrooms. The gem that you perhaps might not expect is the exquisite wooden sauna (Stenal) in the master bathroom.
