How did you start in fashion? Hussein Bazaza: “I’ve been sketching since I was ten. It came to me in a very natural way and it led me to study at ESMOD Beirut.” How would you describe the style of

classic touch but with a twist.” How much does Lebanon influence

your work? “Beirut definitely influences my work because of its unique multicultural environment, its diversity of people and lifestyles.” Where do you produce your collections? “In Beirut, Lebanon. It’s my home and my country, so I want my business and production to be based here.” How many pieces do you sell in Lebanon and how many abroad? “We sell 60% in Lebanon and

40% abroad.” What’s next for your brand? “In the coming year we’re planning to showcase in Europe and explore new markets.”

Has your brand been well received by celebrities? “Queen Rania of Jordan wore one of my skirts for the opening of Parliament last November.” What challenges do emerging Lebanese designers face today? “I’m sure many designers would agree with me when I say that fabric sourcing and production are the key challenges.”
