Il complimento più bello che mi abbiano mai fatto? Quando gli sposi mi confidano di aver superato le loro aspettative, trasformando il matrimonio in qualcosa di più di quel sogno così tanto atteso. Succede sempre dopo la cerimonia: faccio chiudere loro gli occhi, li porto nella sala allestita per il pranzo o per la cena, poi gli chiedo di riaprirli: vedere il loro stupore che si trasforma in felicità è uno stimolo costante”. A svelare i segreti del suo mestiere è Giovanna Damonte, organizzatrice di eventi e wedding planner piemontese con un forte background nel mondo della scenografia e dell’arte, sviluppato con anni di studio e trasformato poi in una solida realtà imprenditoriale grazie a una forte passione e a un’innata sensibilità per il bello: “I miei studi artistici mi hanno aiutata a sviluppare uno dei miei hobby preferiti, la pittura - racconta l’imprenditrice - sono da sempre affascinata anche dal mondo della moda e dell’arredo d’interni dal quale traggo spunto per creare fiabesche scenografie. Quest’abilità mi ha permesso di distinguermi nel settore: io non organizzo ‘solo’ il matrimonio - attività che di per sé assorbe già molto tempo
- ma lo progetto in tutti i suoi aspetti: disegno le scenografie, gli addobbi floreali, i segnaposto, ogni singolo dettaglio che poi faccio realizzare da un team fidato di professionisti.” Il risultato sono matrimoni dalle scenografie uniche, cui si aggiungono location da sogno - in Liguria, nelle Langhe e nel Roero in Piemonte: “Castelli medievali, ville d’epoca ma anche distese infinite di vigneti, io suggerisco sempre location che abbiano sia scenografici spazi esterni sia maestosi e raffinati interni: nel mio lavoro è importante prevedere sempre un’alternativa, la classica pioggia dell’ultima ora non può certamente rovinare un matrimonio studiato nei minimi dettagli”. The best compliment I’ve ever received? When couples tell me that I have exceeded their expectations, transforming their wedding into something that goes beyond their wildest dreams. It always happens after the ceremony. I have them close their eyes, and I take them into the room we’ve set up for the lunch or dinner, and I have them open their eyes: seeing their amazement, which turns into happiness always inspires me.” Giovanna Damonte - an event and wedding planner from Piedmont with a solid background in art and set design after years of study - is talking to us about her trade secrets, having parlayed her skills into a solid business thanks to a great deal of passion and an innate sense of beauty. “My artistic studies helped me develop one of my favorite hobbies: painting,” she says. “I’ve always been fascinated by the world of fashion and interior design as well, and this is where I take inspiration to create fairy-tale settings. This ability allowed me to stand out in the industry. I don’t ‘only’ plan the wedding, which is something that already takes a lot of time, but I design everything about it: the look, the floral arrangements, the place settings, every single detail that I have created by a trusted team of professionals.” This results in weddings with a spectacular setting, including dreamy locations - in Liguria, the Langhe area and Roero in Piedmont. “Medieval castles, period villas as well as large vineyards. I always suggest locations with spectacular outdoor space as well as majestic, refined interiors. In my work, it’s always important to plan for alternative solutions, for that last-minute rain shower, which certainly can’t ruin a wedding planned down to the smallest details.”
