Arab Fa­shion Week

The new ge­ne­ra­tion of in­ter­na­tio­nal de­si­gners se­lec­ted by Vo­gue Ta­len­ts will be sho­w­ca­sing their col­lec­tions in Du­bai.

The brands se­lec­ted by Vo­gue Ta­len­ts will pre­sent their col­lec­tions du­ring Arab Fa­shion Week for the pro­ject that links the Vo­gue Ita­lia plat­form de­di­ca­ted to new-ge­ne­ra­tion de­si­gners to one of the mo­st in­ter­na­tio­nal­ly re­co­gni­sed fa­shion weeks. The event, esta­bli­shed in 2015, is or­ga­ni­sed by the Arab Fa­shion Coun­cil, the bo­dy that re­pre­sen­ts the fa­shion world for the 22 Arab coun­tries stret­ching from the nor­th of Afri­ca to the Le­vant and the Ara­bian Gulf. The next edi­tion, whi­ch will be held from 9 to 13 Oc­to­ber in Du­bai, con­firms its po­si­tion as an im­por­tant op­por­tu­ni­ty for re­gio­nal and in­ter­na­tio­nal brands con­tri­bu­ting to the de­ve­lo­p­ment of the fa­shion in­du­stry in the Midd­le Ea­st. The se­lec­ted de­si­gners – Da­nie­le Car­lot­ta from Ita­ly, Dh­ruv Ka­poor from In­dia, Hus­sein Ba­za­za from Le­ba­non and No­ra Al Shai­kh from Sau­di Ara­bia – will bring the crea­tions of their na­me­sa­ke brands to the ru­n­way du­ring a de­di­ca­ted day wi­thin the of­fi­cial ca­len­dar of the Arab Fa­shion Week. Sa­ra Sozzani Maino, head of Vo­gue Ta­len­ts, will al­so meet lo­cal de­si­gners for a port­fo­lio re­view. “We are ve­ry proud to see the event evol­ving in­to an in­ter­na­tio­nal at­trac­tion that hosts brands, me­dia and buyers from all over the world,” says Ja­cob Abrian, foun­der and chief exe­cu­ti­ve of the Arab Fa­shion Coun­cil. “It’s su­ch a plea­su­re to col­la­bo­ra­te wi­th Vo­gue Ta­len­ts to fea­tu­re se­lec­ted in­ter­na­tio­nal de­si­gners in the of­fi­cial ca­len­dar, wi­th a spe­cial day set asi­de for them to pre­sent their col­lec­tions.” Mo­ham­med Aq­ra, the Arab Fa­shion Coun­cil’s head of part­ner­ships, adds: “It is an ab­so­lu­te­ly su­perb plat­form for de­si­gners around the glo­be to sho­w­ca­se their pro­wess. This year’s event is ex­pec­ted to be di­srup­ti­ve.”
