The bluest of blues

Incastonati sull’orlo di scogliere a picco su orizzonti cerulei, i fari evocano atmosfere sospese e dense di fascino. L’Italia è costellata da questo peculiare tipo di architettura costiera, ma solo in alcuni casi è possibile ambientarvi feste private ed eventi. In Liguria, il Belmond Hotel Splendido di Portofino offre la possibilità di allestire “piccoli” matrimoni nella straordinaria cornice del faro che sorge sul promontorio (oltre che matrimoni più classici nella cornice dell’albergo stesso). La location si raggiunge percorrendo una suggestiva passeggiata dalla piazza del paese, affiancando poi la Chiesa di San Giorgio e attraversando le meraviglie di un bosco mediterraneo a picco sul mare. Set on cliffs overlooking cerulean horizons, lighthouses are quite evocative. Italy is full of these structures along its coasts, but it is rare to be able to rent them for private events. The Belmond Hotel Splendido in Portofino allows for ‘small’ weddings to be held in a lighthouse (and more classic weddings in the hotel itself). The lighthouse can be reached from the little town square, and the walk there is lovely as is the Mediterranean garden overlooking the sea, making for a magical setting whether the event includes a picnic or luxuriously set table.
