SHORE SCENTS
What is the scent of the sea? It has the fragrance of salt, brine, iodine. All elements that, in reality, have no particularly specific odour. The sea in perfumery, translates into abstract concepts including freshness, wind and breeze. Sometimes, however, there are variations on this theme, offering vaguely flowery scents like Depot, enriched with lavender notes. The new aromatic from Hermès, H24, articulates clary sage to convey an unmatched and potent vegetable freshness, while Allure Homme Sport by Chanel, with mint and white musk, gives a burst of olfactory adrenaline.
