“We like to work with fabrics that have a certain tactility because they trigger feelings and emotions when you touch them. Wherever possible, we buy overstock of other companies and maisons instead of using materials that have been specifically produced for us. This not only allows us to operate more sustainably, but also gives us access to finer fabrics such as cashmeres and silks, which would otherwise be difficult to get hold of for an emerging brand. For our knitwear, we’re currently experimenting with a blend of raffia and cotton yarns to create a collection of garments that are all hand-knitted in Italy. These two fibres have very different characteristics, with cotton being soft and raffia having a harsher, more technical feel. Merging these qualities into a single piece is proving to be a really exciting process.”
