The first ret­ro­spec­tive and the first per­sonal ex­hi­bi­tion ded­i­cated to Bri­tish artist Mark Leckey, 2008 win­ner of the pres­ti­gious ‘Turner Prize’ and ‘Cen­tral Art Award’. The ex­hi­bi­tion ‘Desiderata (in me­dia res)’ presents an ex­cur­sus of Leckey’s work, amidst new and older pieces: sculp­tural works, in­stal­la­tions, per­for­mance and videos. Leckey’s artis­tic research falls out­side the spe­cific field of art, con­stantly mov­ing to­wards the bound­ary be­tween art and ev­ery­day life. Museo Madre. Via Set­tem­brini, 79, Naples. The ex­hi­bi­tion fo­cuses on the paint­ing of the seventeenth cen­tury Neapoli­tan artists or fol­low­ers of Baroque artist Car­avag­gio who had ties with Naples in­clud­ing Artemisia Gen­tileschi, Luca Gior­dano and Mat­tia Preti, but also the Fate Presto paint­ing by Andy Warhol from the Reg­gia di Caserta. A villa con­fis­cated from a boss of the Camorra, and now ded­i­cated to the me­mory of Don Peppe Diana, a priest mur­dered in his church by the clan’s hit men in 1993, has be­come a mu­seum host­ing works of art orig­i­nat­ing from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. 10.30am to 8.30pm Casa di don Diana.
