Naples and New York are united by the ‘poetic paintings’ of Annapatrizia Settembre
On display at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, paintings consisting of images and poetic verses
A fine, coloured line, consisting of images and poetry, links Naples to New York with the works of Annapatrizia Settembre, a writer, poet and painter. From the end of April, Settembre’s ‘poetic paintings’, featuring brightly coloured images infused with verses of her poetry, will be on display at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York. Coloured, narrative thoughts, the result of the artist’s highly original, ongoing pictorial research. Paintings and poems depicted by an individual who refuses to succumb to the injustices of life. Born in Naples in 1965, Annapatrizia Settembre has published three novels: “Caterina scappa scà”, “Caterina e il mondo fuori” and “I ragazzi di Jonathan”. Her writings and paintings dispel negative thoughts of fear, inspiring feelings of courage, positivity and victory.
