PAESTUM NEI PERCORSI DEL GRAND TOUR
To mark The May of Monuments event, Castel dell’Ovo will host the exhibition/event entitled ‘Paestum nei percorsi del Grand Tour’ featuring the works of several of the greatest artists and geographers of the period who, through etchings, gouaches, oil paintings and maps, offer visitors insight into the views of Paestum and Cilento that, from the 18th century onwards, contributed to forming the collective imaginary of Southern Italy. During the reign of Charles III, Paestum was one of the cultural stopovers of the Grand Tour, immortalized by several of the greatest artists of the times including Piranesi, Pitloo, Turner, Catel and Morghen.
