HARLEQUIN WITH MIRROR

Where Naples Coast & Islands - - WHERE NOW | HOT DATES -

As part of the ‘L’Ospite illustre’ project, Naples will host the Harlequin with Mirror, one of Pablo Picasso’s most famous works, on loan from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. The painting is strongly influenced by the Andalusian artist’s trip to Naples in 1917, reflecting hints of the Roman paintings admired by Picasso in Pompeii and the folkloristic traditions associated with Pulcinella. During the same period, as part of the Caravaggio y los pintores del Norte exhibition, the Madrid-based Museum will host the Martyrdom of Saint Ursula, currently part of the collection owned by Intesa Sanpaolo, on display at Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano.
