In the heart of the quaint Quadri­latero Ro­mano, Con­sorzio of­fers tra­di­tional cui­sine, some­times re- imag­ined with a twist, fea­tur­ing ‘ Made- in Piedmont’ in­gre­di­ents in­clud­ing Pied­mon­tese beef, Cer­vere leeks, the hunch­back this­tles of Nizza Mon­fer­rato and freshly picked, gar­den­grown veg­eta­bles. This charm­ing restau­rant owned by the­atri­cal Floren­tine chef Ce­sare Maretti fea­tures brightly lit win­dows over­look­ing the street, con­tem­po­rary dé­cor and an open- plan kitchen, now a pop­u­lar con­tem­po­rary con­cept in North­ern Italy. A small bistro in the Quadri­latero Ro­mano, in­fused with a de­cid­edly French at­mos­phere. Le Vi­tel Etonné

The stand­out at this restau­rant lo­cated in the heart of the cen­tre is ‘vitello ton­nato’, one of the great clas­sics of Piedmont cui­sine, an ab­so­lute must- try at its name­sake restau­rant. Other spe­cial­ties in­clude ‘ tajerin’, a fresh pasta pre­pared ac­cord­ing to a tra­di­tional recipe with 36 egg yolks per kilo of flour, served with an ar­ray of sea­sonal sauces, ‘ tagli­atelle’ with Bra sausage and ‘ag­nolotti al plin’. This is small eatery re­sem­bling an artist’s stu­dio rather than a restau­rant. The kitchen turns out small mas­ter­pieces like ‘plin’ and ‘ tajerin’, the sta­ples of Piedmont’s culi­nary tra­di­tion, which are avail­able with nu­mer­ous fill­ings and sauces, in­clud­ing ve­gan and veg­e­tar­ian op­tions. Porto di Savona

One of the city’s old­est res­tau­rants, Porto di Savona opened in 1863 when Turin was the cap­i­tal of Italy. The restau­rant is on the city’s beau­ti­ful Pi­azza Vit­to­rio, and the warm in­te­rior is laid out like a 19th- cen­tury tav­ern, with Lib­erty- style decor, wooden bois­erie, mir­rors, 1940s fur­nish­ing ac­ces­sories and walls dec­o­rated with pe­riod paint­ings and pho­to­graphs. Lo­cated in the trendy San Sal­vario dis­trict, Scannabue is ex­tremely pop­u­lar thanks to its warm, laid back at­mos­phere and its tra­di­tional, af­ford­able cui­sine, es­pe­cially among the city’s young, hip crowd. In ad­di­tion to clas­sic re­gional recipes, in­clud­ing rab­bit tuna, beef tartare and clas­sic starters, it also serves a va­ri­ety of fish dishes. Ste­fano Fanti al Cir­colo dei Let­tori

This unique restau­rant is lo­cated at the Cir­colo dei Let­tori, in the city’s 17th cen­tury Palazzo Graneri della Roc­cia. For­merly a pri­vate mem­bers club, the Cir­colo dei Let­tori was a meet­ing place for Turin’s in­tel­lec­tu­als, writ­ers, po­ets and artists, seen in the rows of artist portraits that line the restau­rant’s walls. Its tra­di­tional culi­nary of­fer­ing is rein­ter­preted with a con­tem­po­rary twist by chef Ste­fano Fan­tini.
