FOR MORE LISTINGS VISIT WWW.WHEREITALIA.COM/TURIN A temple of contemporary art Located just outside the city's vibrant centre, there's a place that's dedicated entirely to art, where contemporary cultural languages take centre stage, amidst music, dance, literature and design. Established by patron and art lover Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo ( see photo) the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo was conceived as an observatory on the latest artistic trends and contemporary cultural languages. Thanks to the contribution of young artists engaged in promoting diverse art forms, the Foundation aims to make contemporary art accessible to a wider, mixed audience. Located inside a post-industrial building since 2002, which also houses the starred restaurant, the Torinese headquarters of the Foundation are characterized by their minimalist spaces, designed specifically to house and display contemporary art in a dynamic, continually evolving context. The artistic and cultural offerings transcend the concept of a permanent display, giving way to site-specific exhibitions and projects commissioned to emerging artists and curators, whose works of art interact with the spaces hosting them.
