Tea­tro La Fe­ni­ce

UN­MIS­SA­BLE Lo­ca­ted in the Se­stie­re San Mar­co, La Fe­ni­ce Ope­ra Hou­se is the one of the mo­st le­gen­da­ry ope­ra hou­ses in Ita­ly. Twi­ce de­stroyed by fi­re (1836 and 1996) and twi­ce re­sto­red to its for­mer splen­dour, for cen­tu­ries it has been Ve­ni­ce's prin­ci­pal sta­ge for world-class ope­ra, mu­sic, sym­pho­nies and the In­ter­na­tio­nal Fe­sti­val of Con­tem­po­ra­ry Mu­sic. In the 19th cen­tu­ry, it ho­sted the ‘pre­mie­res' of ope­ras by Gioa­chi­no Ros­si­ni, Vin­cen­zo Bel­li­ni, Gae­ta­no Do­ni­zet­ti and Giu­sep­pe Ver­di, whi­le in the 20th cen­tu­ry it be­ca­me a fo­cal point for con­tem­po­ra­ry pro­duc­tions. www.tea­tro­la­fe­ni­ The thea­ter is ge­ne­ral­ly open dai­ly for tours from 9.30am to 6pm.
