PEGGY'S FIRST BIENNALE
- In 1948, Peggy Guggenheim was invited to exhibit her already legendary art collection at the 24th Art Biennale in Venice. It was a landmark event and the first-ever showing of Peggy's collection in Europe. This event brought the works of numerous international artists, almost unknown at that time, to the Lagoon city.
2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the exhibition of Peggy Guggenheim's collection in the Greek Pavilion at the renowned Venice Biennale. The layout of the pavilion, designed by Carlo Scarpa, an eminent architect of the time, has been recreated today in the Project Rooms.
