Little London, Petersfield seek to dominate Zone D, as Spot Valley beat Herbert Morrison

RAMBLE, Hanover — Little London High and Petersfield High, leaders in Zone D of the ISSA/ Wata dacosta Cup are both hoping to increase their leads when they take on newcomers Belmont Academy and Knockalva

Technical respectively, today. Both games are set to kick off at 3:30 pm.

Little London High, the dominant team in the zone the last two years, lead with five points from a win and two draws, one point ahead of Petersfield High, who have played two games.

Three more games will be played in western Jamaica tomorrow as the organisers have rescheduled a number of matches.

Irwin High host Maldon High in Zone A, Cambridge High welcome Merlene Ottey in Zone B, while William Knibb Memorial and Spot Valley High meet in Zone C.

Today, Little London High are expected to get the better of debutants Belmont Academy, who have had a difficult time adjusting to the competition, conceding 12 goals in their two games played.

Little London have managed just two goals in their three games, but could use today’s game to improve their goal tally.

Petersfield High have so far scored nine goals, the most goals in the zone, eight of those coming in their win over Belmont Academy before drawing

1-1 against Little London.

Knockalva Technical have drawn both games played after the move from Zone B this season, and are hoping for their first win today, after getting just two all of last year, both coming at the expense of Hopewell High.

They led Manning’s School in Savanna - la

-Mar on Monday, but gave up a tying goal in a game that was played in steady rainfall that made underfoot conditions difficult.

In another match on Monday last Spot Valley

High beat Herbert Morrison 1-0.
