Gold Face hopes for Better Days

- BY KEVIN JACKSON

HOPE for a better life and finding ways of escaping a life of poverty has been a constant cry for many. Trelawny-based dancehall deejay Gold Face uses this as inspiration for his latest single Better Days.

Better Days was produced by Run Road Entertainment.

The deejay believes the song’s message is relatable.

“It’s a song that many can relate to. Many ghetto youths are hoping for a change and that is the basis of Better Days,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

Two years ago, Gold

Face (given name Ackeem Minto) decided to pursue a career in music. He is also upbeat about the success of rural acts including Teejay and Rygin King, who hail from western Jamaica.

“It has not being an easy journey. I have had a lot of ups and downs, but

I try to stay focussed and improve on my music career,” said Gold

Face.

Asked what he brings to the table musically, he said: “I bring a different vibe, marvellous sound, and an orotund force.”

Aside from Better Days, the deejay is also promoting Auto Press, a song produced by Nine Slice Entertainment. Videos for both songs are expected to be released next month.
