Day Break lights up New York
THE Network and Milk and Honey Events recently took the Day Break Premium Breakfast party to the New York area, and fans came out in large numbers.
Held on Sunday, September 16, at the rooftop of The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the event has been hailed a success.
The Network’s Jywanza Hall explained the decision to promote this edition of the popular Jamaican series in the tri-state area.
“It was with an aim to increase the presence of brand Jamaica within the diaspora while exposing New Yorkers to a breakfast party that scintillates patrons with an experience that is simply unparalleled and is embodied by a catalogue of full-flavoured Jamaican breakfast,” said Hall.
He shared plans to take the event in other areas across the United States.
“Yes, with the success of the recently held event, we have every intention to explore other states that have a large Jamaican and Caribbean presence.”
Day Break was first held in December 2015 at Sabina Park in Kingston. Since then, the series has grown steadily.
“Throughout the years, the party has grown tremendously where the number of attendees continue to rise at each staging. These notable successes have uniquely positioned the brand to be the most anticipated breakfast event in Jamaica for ‘The Great Weekend’ October 12-16, 2018 (Heroes weekend),” said Hall.
He summed up the New York staging. “We had a sold-out capacity, and we did not fail to unleash absolute pleasure in an ultra-premium morning celebration. The day’s enchantment was enhanced through lavish décor design with the specific tone of happiness, tantalising music, exotic cocktails and continuous flowing of GH Mumm Champagne.”
Hall spoke about the highlight of the event.
‘The highlight was the repost of a video by American R&B artiste Lil Duval whose song is currently on the Billboard Airplay chart, who captioned “They say I got the hottest Jamaican party in NY lit.”
Musical connoisseurs responsible for the diverse musical offerings at Day Break, included DJ Polish and Noah Powa, DJ Back to Basics and Tony X, DJ Cali B, and DJ Dre Day from Renaissance Disco.
