Kingalarm officer thwarts robbery, killed
SECURITY firm Kingalarm is encouraging anyone with information pertaining to the murder of one of its security officers, who was shot in an attempted robbery in Greater Portmore, St Catherine, to speak to the authorities.
Lincoln Graham, who was stationed at the location, was killed when he thwarted an armed robbery approximately 2:15 pm yesterday at the Paymaster location.
“We at Kingalarm have already reached out to Crime Stop and encourage those with information relating to this heinous crime to share it anonymously with them by calling 311, or to do so directly with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) who have already commenced their investigation’s,” Kingalarm said.
A police source told the Jamaica Observer that three men entered the building while their two cronies stayed outside waiting. The security guard realised what was happening and approached the men. It is alleged that one of the armed men held on to the security guard. An explosion was heard during a struggle between the men. The bullet hit Graham in the face and the gunmen fled.
“Officer Graham’s heroic actions, in the face of the most adverse of circumstances, no doubt helped to protect the lives and property of others and he died doing what he pledged to do many years ago — serve and protect,” Kingalarm said.
At the same time, the company thanked the public, colleagues and the security industry for their outpouring of support.
“This incident is a stark reminder of the inherent risk that those operating in the security industry face and we ask you to remember Officer Graham and his family members in your prayers, along with others who have lost their lives under similarly tragic circumstances due to the scourge of crime and violence,” Kingalarm said.
