Police suspect suicide

Anns Simpson, a 78-yearold resident of Wild Street in central Kingston, is suspected to have committed suicide at his home on Friday, the police have said.

Reports from the Central Police Station are that about 5:30 am, Simspon was found by family members hanging from a length of rope from the ceiling in a room. The police who were called, processed the scene and the body was removed to the morgue.

AMMUNITION seized IN DENHAM TOWN

A team of police personnel assigned to the Denham Town Police Division in west Kingston seized several assorted rounds of ammunition during an operation on Metcalfe Street, Denham Town, last week.

The police force’s Corporate Communicat­ions Unit reported that law enforcers searched a premises and found thirteen .45 and ten 9mm rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.

MAN dies IN road CRASH

Police investigat­ors in Manchester are probing the circumstan­ces surroundin­g the fatal collision that claimed the life of a man on the Aenon Town main road, Manchester, on Friday.

Dead is 30-year-old Leroy Campbell, constructi­on worker of Cufferidge district, St Ann.

Reports from the Spalding police are that about 2:30 pm, Campbell was a pillion passenger on a Zhujiang motorcycle. On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Toyota Probox motor car which was travelling in the opposite direction. Both men sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, where Campbell was pronounced dead and other man was admitted for treatment.
