-

COCA-COLA, through its local bottler Wisynco, has partnered with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to support the reggae Girlz on their journey to France.

The team made history by being the first Caribbean nation to qualify for the international championship.

The Reggae Girlz are one of the top women’s national football teams in the Caribbean, and were drawn with Australia, Brazil and Italy in their zone. They end a five-day training camp today in preparation to their first practice match against Chile on February 28 and March 3 at Kingston’s National Stadium and Montego Bay’s Catherine Hall Stadium, respectively.

Michael Ricketts, president of the JFF, welcomed Coca-cola’s sponsorship of the Reggae Girlz. According to Ricketts, “the JFF is very elated and excited at the prospects of what could very well unfold, having now partnered with Coca-cola. I must express my absolute delight and of course I am pretty certain that we would want to have a long and lasting relationship with an international product like Coca-cola. We hope that this will be a most productive partnership.”

As the Reggae Girlz’ official beverage sponsor, Coca-cola will be holding several exciting promotions leading up to the start of the Fifa Women’s World Cup. Consumers will get a chance to win a trip to watch the Reggae Girlz in France, and many cool collectible items. The public is invited to look out for updates on the promotions by following the brand’s social media pages — Instagram and Facebook pages @ cocacolajamaica.

Coca-cola supports the team through the Jamaica Football Federation and the Reggae Girlz Foundation, while contributing to the spirit of the Jamaican fans all around the nation. The brand will also dress the players by providing them with special competition and travel gear.

“We couldn’t be prouder of what the Reggae Girlz have accomplished. Without a doubt, this success will go down in history and will inspire other Jamaican and Caribbean women to follow their dreams and never give up. Coca-cola didn’t want to miss the opportunity to celebrate this milestone and show our support to the players, who we know will represent Jamaica exceptionally at the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup,” said Amoye Phillpotts-brown, brand manager for the Coca-cola Portfolio Jamaica.
