MESSAGE FROM THE LEADER OF OPPOSITION

I t is with pleasure that I join in the 15th anniversary celebrations of the NMIA Airports Limited (NMIAL), operators of the Norman Manley International Airport and subsidiary of the Airports Authority of Jamaica (AAJ).

A crystal anniversary is significant in the life of any organisation and it is especially important for the NMIAL as it signals a new direction and endless possibilities for this very important public body in the years ahead.

Since its incorporation in 2003, NMIAL has played the role of airport operator and has transformed the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) into a facility about which all Jamaicans can be proud.

The quality of service and the general aesthetics of the NMIA compare very well with almost any international gateway globally, as it caters to divergent groups of travellers, including tourists, business travellers, locals and the Jamaican Diaspora. This is in-keeping with your company’s mission to operate a safe, profitable and environmentally friendly airport, providing world-class service with a distinctly Jamaican character.

The major international gateway is strategically located and well poised as a top quality service provider as increasingly Jamaica is seen as a place for business travel, moving in stride with its strong tourism ranking.
