Focus on your portfolio, Hanna
Dear Editor, Sunday Brew Jamaica Observer
The column in the on March 24, 2019 stood out to me.
It spoke to concerns raised by the People’s National Party’s spokeswoman on foreign affairs Lisa Hanna as it relates to Caymanas Park.
I completely agree with the writer, H G Helps. There is obvious bias in her argument and this tirade of fault-finding over investments in horse racing is hypocritical.
A few weeks ago it was brought to my attention that Hanna expressed great concern about the Government spending an “extravagant” about of cash on horse racing. The questioning of the Government’s latest investment looks quite suspicious.
This is not the first time the Government has spent money on Caymanas Park or on horse racing.
What’s more, does Hanna consider how much money is generated for the Government through Caymanas Park and on race days?
I am having great difficulty determining why Hanna is so concerned about this act of the Government and would expose herself to derision.
As one who is highly admired and looked upon for positively representing Jamaica, her recent rant is painting a bad image.
I encourage Hanna to focus on more important issues taking place in Jamaica, especially those that relate directly to her portfolio as Opposition spokesperson.
Let us unite and work as a team to make Jamaica a better place.
