Body transformation stories to inspire you Ajay Seeram — more muscle, less fat

- — Candiece Knight

“Iwas about 18 and about 190 pounds at five foot six inches and I was unhappy with how I looked so I knew I had to change things,” Ajay Seeram told All Woman frankly.

That was four years ago, and Seeram, who just started university, was tired of being “a fattie” as he described it.

“I also considered the fact that being big came with a lot of health risks,” he added.

Seeram decided to hit the gym, a decision which his friends, who were already on their fitness journeys, approved wholeheartedly. He has not looked back since.

“Of course there were times when I felt like giving up,” he confessed. “But each time I would look at myself in the mirror and remind myself that I had to get this done.”

The 22-year-old now weighs 177 pounds; however, his body composition is predominantly muscle as opposed to fat which it was a few years ago. He, however, has gone as low as 155 pounds when his aim was on losing weight.

Seeram has now become the fitness guru in his family, and with his degree in psychology and fascination with how the human body and mind work, he decided to help others achieve their fitness goals by becoming a personal fitness trainer.

“These days my routine is influenced by strength and size, but sometimes I switch it up when I want to lose weight,” he shared. “My diet generally comprises lean red meat and a lot of vegetables. I maintain a low-carb, low-fat diet, and a lot of protein.”

The trainer encourages those who suffer from low self-esteem because of too little or too much weight to exercise their way out.

“If you want to live a healthier life and feel more confident in your body, you should definitely go to the gym,” he recommended. “You might also want to invest in a personal trainer because it will work out in your favour, as you will need all the guidance that you can get.”
