All set for Mayhem in Negril this Sunday

- BY ACEION CUNNINGHAM

Billed as the ‘Caribbean’s Favourite Water Party,’ Mayhem Soaka Playground washes into the resort town of Negril this Sunday at Kool Runnings Adventure Park, with the vibes moving later on in the day to its official after party ‘Aftamath’, at island lux Beach Park, also in that town.

Mayhem has solidified its position as one of the staple events on the entertainment landscape out west, and its organisers, Prodigy Entertainment Group, are looking to take its brand outside of Negril and beyond the Jamaican shores.

“We had an immensely successful staging in May of this year, and as from a growth aspect we are always looking to have two dates each year. However, the feedback and analysis were showing that we needed to further concretise our standing in Negril,” said Djordon Garwood, director, Prodigy Entertainment Group.

He stressed that plans are afoot to take the party overseas next year.

“The plans for next year are in keeping with the growth and success of the brand. We are going to Miami early next year, our usual staging in Negril, as well as an edition in Ocho Rios later in the year,” said Garwood.

On Sunday, the promoters are promising their usual party atmosphere with drink-inclusive specials, popular DJS, entertainers and vloggers.

“Mayhem patrons can expect a particular level of entertainment as we always push to ensure that mix is in place. We notice the interaction with the vloggers, our drink-inclusive feature is a big draw and we always surprise with the artistes that perform. Another plus for us is that we have excellent security in place, and we have never had any incidents at the party. It’s safe, fun-filled and a real space for the discerning partygoer looking to have a really good time,” said Garwood.

The floodgates are set to open at 2:00 pm with a slated 8:00 pm end. From there the party moves on to the after party at Island Lux Beach Park from 8:00 pm with a scheduled 2:00 am close.

Smoke Infinity, DJ Kentucky, Bishop Escobar and ZJ Chrome are on deck for entertainment duties, while comedian World Dawg will be at the helm for hosting duties.

Pre-sold general admission tickets (drink inclusive) are $6,500 and VIP pre-sold tickets (drink and food inclusive) are $10,000. Tickets are available online at mayhemja.com and outlets include Fontana Pharmacy at their Savanna-la-mar, Ocho Rios, Kingston and Mandeville branches, as well as Perfect Health Doctor’s Office in Montego Bay.
