Message from The Ministry of Finance and Planning Service

It is with deep sadness and regret that the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service (MOFPS) notes the passing of Ms. Greta Bogues on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Ms. Bogues, who was a Leadership Consultant and Certified Corporate Governance Trainer, headed the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica’s (PSOJ) Corporate Governance Committee.

She was very passionate about improving corporate Governance practices in the public and private sectors. In support of enhanced corporate governance in the public sector, she partnered with the

MOFPS and the Office of the Cabinet on various initiatives including:

• Volunteering her expertise as an integral member of an Implementation Oversight Committee (IOC) formed by the MOFPS in 2014. The IOC has been providing direction and technical advice in the development of regulations, policies, frameworks and tools in the implementation of the CORPORATE GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK FOR PUBLIC BODIES.

• Presenting on corporate governance at sensitisation sessions and workshops hosted by Mofps/public bodies.

• Being an integral member of the steering/ planning committees for the MOFPS/PSOJ Corporate Governance Awards for Public Bodies.

• Working with a number of public bodies to develop governance policies, tools and frameworks.

Ms. Bogues was an invaluable partner in the quest to improve public sector governance and the team at the MOFPS will miss her enthusiasm, service and commitment. May her soul rest in peace.
