Bubble Blowers

- By Kesi Asher-dawkins

There was a little boy named Tim, who loved to blow bubbles. He loved to blow bubbles inside the house, outside in the yard and in his bedroom. He had a bubble blower shaped like a bear with a whistle on the top. He blew bubbles in the mornings, after school and at nights. When he wasn’t blowing bubbles, he was blowing the whistle at the top.

One day, he asked his mother to blow bubbles with him so that he could burst the bubbles.

“Mommy, here, take the bubble blower. Dip the circle in the water about seven times. Not too hard Mommy. Then blow the bubbles,” said Tim. Mommy started to dip the stick and blow through the circle.

“Wow Tim, look at these bubbles,” said Mommy, ”I’m blowing bubbles,” Mommy laughed and continued to blow the bubbles. When she blew the bubbles, Tim clapped them and burst them. It was so much fun for Mommy and Tim.

“I want to burst the bubbles too Tim,” said Mommy, laughing. Tim started to blow the bubbles so that Mommy could get a chance to burst the bubbles. They blew bubbles for a long time, until the soap water in the bottle was finished.

“I had so much fun blowing bubbles today Mommy. Thank you for taking some time to play with me,” said Tim.

“Ofcourse Tim, I’m never too busy to play with you. Whenever you want to play, just let me know and we will make some time okay,” said Mommy. She hugged Tim and went back inside.

Tim looked next door and saw his neighbor, John, crying. He went to the fence to see what was wrong.

“Hey John, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” asked Tim.

“I was trying to get my mother to play with me from this morning, but she is so busy with work. She is working from home now,” said John.

“Oh I’m sorry to hear John, would you like me to play with you?” asked John.

“It’s okay Tim. Many people don’t like the game that I want to play. You will probably think it’s stupid. You will probably think I’m stupid,” said John sadly.

“Don’t say that John, I won’t think you are stupid or that your game is stupid. Come on John, don’t be sad, I will play with you,” said Tim.

“Okay…if you say so. Come over and let’s play then,” said John.

Tim went over to John’s house and John took from his pocket, a bubble blower. Tim was so surprised, it was one just like his, just a different colour.

“Wow John, I love to blow bubbles! I am a bubble blower too!” said Tim, excitedly.

“What! You are a bubble blower too? Wow! This is amazing! Do you clap the bubbles too and burst them?” asked John, surprised.

“Yes John, I love to clap and burst them and I have a bubble blower just like yours, let’s blow bubbles!” said Tim.

Tim and John blew bubbles and burst bubbles for the rest of the evening. John was happy again. Tim and John planned to blow bubbles at least twice a week from then on.
