- BY KEVIN JACKSON Observer writer

DURING the first year of the novel coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns, popular radio jock, entertainer, and music producer ZJ Liquid wanted to do something different to commemorate his birthday.

He came up with the idea to host an annual cookout.

“Inna di quarantine in 2020 my birthday was coming up and I thought about what to do. I decided to try a cookout because I love seafood. I put it together in two weeks and it sell off. With the overwhelming response I decided to do it again a month later around Thanksgiving and introduced the people to turkey,” ZJ Liquid explained in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.

Next Friday, October 7, he will again host his annual cookout, which is dubbed the Seafood Edition. It is scheduled to be held at 1 Hillview Avenue in Half-way-tree.

“Artistes, dancers, people who love music, people who love good food, food lovers, and the music fraternity are among the people who support me. And this year we expect nothing different. They can expect top-notch food and people know that I am very hands-on and involved in the preparation where the food is concerned,” he explained.

Aside from the usual seafood delicacies, ZJ Liquid had decided to spice things up a bit by adding new items to the menu.

“We will be adding barbeque lobster, curry lobster, curry and garlic crab, roast fish, and some different ways of preparing conch. It’s just a nice menu that everybody love and enjoy,” said ZJ Liquid.
