COVENANT Insurance Brokers led from the start in a dominating 150-112 win in their rescheduled game against Technical Services Division (Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF) in the inaugural staging of the Winners Corporate Domino League on Thursday.

Covenant Insurance Brokers maintained their unblemished record in three games at their home base on Norwood Road in Kingston, moving closer to a berth in the competition’s quarter-finals.

Covenant Insurance Brokers lead Group A with 15 points, while the loss sent the Technical Services Division men to the bottom of the four-team standings with nine points from three games. Digicel Group and National Commercial Bank each have 12 points through three games.

Covenant Insurance Brokers were given 20 points, 10 points each for the halves, despite playing with only three tables owing to the inability of the Technical Services Division team to field a complete squad.

Covenant Insurance Brokers jumped out to a 19-8 lead early in the game, then increased the tempo at 25-10 and 56-31 to end the first half with a 30-point lead at 76-46.

With a comfortable lead, Covenant Insurance Brokers made adjustments to all three tables on the restart, expecting to keep the pressure on the Technical Services Division, which they did, holding a 38-point advantage for the most of the game.

Technical Services Division, on the other hand, attempted to comeback by hitting two sixes loves, but Covenant Insurance Brokers proved too powerful in the end, winning by 38 points.

MCQT Construction beat Rae’s Water Store 150-121 at the Mystix Sports Bar and Lounge on Hagley Park Road earlier in the week. With the victory, MCQT Construction is the single leader of Group D with 15 points from three games, while Rae’s Water Store and Crystal Network Solution are tied for second place with 12 points apiece from three games. With nine points after three games, Sagicor Group sits at the bottom of the standings.
