MESSAGE FROM THE LEADER OF OPPOSITION
I am delighted to join the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew (KCNSA) in celebrating their w49th anniversary of service to the children and people of Jamaica. This is a remarkable milestone that reflects your unwavering dedication and commitment to making a positive impact in our society.
Over the past 49 years, the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew has undertaken numerous commendable projects, all aimed at improving the lives of children and vulnerable groups in our community. From the construction of essential facilities such as the Sluicing Station, Isolation Ward, Day Care Centre, and Hostel at the Bustamante Hospital for Children, to initiatives like the Mico Youth Counselling Centre, and the Rubella Unit at the Salvation Army School for the deaf, your club has left an indelible mark on the lives of many.
The theme for this year’s celebrations, “Nurturing Today’s Children to Become Tomorrow’s Leaders, One Child at a Time,” aptly captures the essence of the work of the Kiwanis Club. By showcasing your national and community projects, you not only raise awareness about your involvement with children and vulnerable groups but also inspire others to support your noble cause.
The Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew’s commitment to service goes beyond mere words. As the largest Kiwanis Club in Jamaica, you have taken the initiative to sponsor Service Leadership Programs (SLPS) in twenty-four public primary, secondary, and tertiary learning institutions. Your active participation, mentorship, and leadership development have undoubtedly played a crucial role in shaping the minds and character of countless young individuals who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
It is important to acknowledge that the success of these projects and the past 49 years of service would not have been possible without the generous support of the general public. Together, we believe that children are the present and future of our society, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure their wellbeing and success. By continuing to make “Young Children, Priority One,” the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew sets an example for all of us to follow.
I am pleased to learn about the projects you have undertaken and the projects planned for this administrative year, and look forward to their success. Once again, congratulations on this remarkable milestone.
I extend my best wishes to the Kiwanis Club of North St. Andrew for continued success and fruitful endeavours. May your commitment to serving the children and people of Jamaica inspire others to join hands in creating a brighter future for all.
