JC to honour Edward Alexander, Ian Levy

TWO OUTSTANDING old boys, Ian Kent Levy, cochairman of Supreme Ventures Ltd, and Edward ‘Teddy’ Alexander, CEO and founder of tTech Ltd, have been selected as the recipients of this year’s Jamaica College (JC) Carlton Alexander Awards for Excellence.

Levy, who is also the chairman of Ian K. (Agencies) Ltd, and Alexander, a director of the Board of Governors at Jamaica College, will be honoured during a function on June 17.

Since opening its doors in 1795, JC has produced several distinguished old boys. Each year the school recognises some of its stalwarts who have exemplified leadership, achievement and status in their chosen fields through the Carlton Alexander Awards for Excellence.

The award, named in honour of Dr Selwyn Carlton D. Alexander, one of Jamaica’s leading businessmen in the field of commerce, industry and export, was established in 1990 by the JC Old Boys’ Association.

Known as one of the masterminds behind the coordination of various segments of the business sector, which positively contributed to national development in the 1960s, Carlton Alexander is also referred to as the ‘Godfather of Jamaica College’.

Distinguished old boys presented with this special award in the past include Michael Manley, R. Danny Williams, Mayer Matalon, Patrick Robinson, Peter Phillips, and Richard Byles.
