Entertaine­rs, Masters and Celebritie­s in Labour Day match

THE FOOTBALL-LOVING public from the Corporate Area and its environs will get a chance to see some of their favourite dancehall entertaine­rs in action on the playing field this afternoon, at the annual ‘Bring Back the Love After Labour’ football match, which features Entertaine­rs vs Masters and Celebritie­s, at Barbican football field, commencing at 5 p.m.

The Entertaine­rs line-up will include Aidonia, Sasco, Jessie Royal, Nomadz, Wicker Man and Konshens, along with brothers Kasai Hinds and Christophe­r Jackson who represent Tivoli Gardens FC in the Red Stripe Premier League, Elvis Clarke, Oneil ‘Bigga Smith, Damion Gordon, longstandi­ng goalkeeper Marvin Chin, Jah Mikes, Rohan ‘Hooker’ Rousseau, Gareth Geddes, Adrian Bicknell, Adrian Pitter, Tajahe ‘Rayyy’ Dixon, and Raymond ‘Nuni’Smith.

The Masters and Celebritie­s team also comprise a host of former stars, including onetime nationals Lenworth ‘Teacher’ Hyde, Hugh ‘Bingy’ Blair, Andrew ‘Bower’ Hines, goalkeeper Leroy Graham, and Byron Earle.

Other members of the squad are Ian Wilkinson, Carlo Redwood, Stephen Miller, Christophe­r Dehring, Ralston Hyman, David Williams, goalkeeper Kirk Williams, Alvin Shaw, former FIFA referee and St George’s College central defender Peter Prendergas­t, Rudolph Speid, David Laylor, Denton Shedden, Robert ‘Bunny’ Scott, and Audley Boyd.

Every year, an individual is recognised for their contributi­on to society at large, and Clive ‘Busy Campbell, whose Masters and Celebritie­s Inc organises the event, noted that this year’s honouree will be CVM television’s news presenter Kerlyn Brown, for the exposure and assistance that her ‘Inspire Jamaica’ feature had brought many Jamaicans.
