Big names for Bob Marley One Love football today
THE ANNUAL Bob Marley One Love Fun Day and football matches will see two matches, with former national stars, celebrities, and referees playing to raise money for basic schools.
The games will see a Tuff Gong Invitational against Masters and Celebrities, starting at 4 p.m. today to be followed by an Entertainers-Celebrities vs Referees contest at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
The winners of each game will receive trophies.
Clive ‘Busy’ Campbell, chief organiser of the annual event named after late great singer Robert ‘Bob’ Marley, said that proceeds would go towards basic schools.
“We have always helped with the development of education, so this year, we will be assisting Lyndhurst Methodist, Jones Town, and Ferry Basic schools. We always try to support the development of Basic schools in the communities,” Campbell told The Gleaner.
“We try to foster a good relationship within the communities. I am asking for persons to come out and contribute,” he said.
HONOUREES INCLUDE
The Jamaica Urban Transit Company will be transporting commuters from Half-Way-Tree and downtown Kingston to the venue in Trench Town.
The honourees include late singer Dennis Brown and the Mighty Diamonds group.
