ST THOMAS EASTERN: DELANO SEIVERIGHT VS DR FENTON FERGUSON
AGE IS just a number, and that was what sixteen-year-old Lashawna Lambert of Eastern St Thomas proved earlier yesterday, as she campaigned alongside the hundreds of supporters who turned out at the nomination centre to support their member of parliament, Dr Fenton Ferguson.
When asked about her presence at the nomination centre, Lambert told The Gleaner that she accompanied her mother, who has been a die-hard People’s National Party (PNP) supporter for years.
But though she attended because of her mother’s convenience, Lambert says she, too, is a follower of the orange party and Ferguson.
“He help us to go to school, so I know that if he wins, I’ll have an opportunity to further my education,” she said.
The teenager says Ferguson is a huge supporter of young people, and that is what she admires most about him.
“He always come round and check up on us, not only when it’s politics time.
Him good to everybody, but him more check for the young people,” she said.
Lambert told The Gleaner that though she is unable to vote this year because of her age, she is sure that as soon as she is able to do so, she will be voting for her beloved Ferguson.
“He will win because everyone in St Thomas is with him, and he helps them in every way he can,” she said.
