Forty years of excellence

-

THE PRIVATE Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is proud to be celebrating 40 years of existence. The past 40 years have seen much turbulence in our economic and the social environment, and the PSOJ has managed to grow from strength to strength during that time. This has resulted from the ability of the organisation to adapt to a constantly changing environment over the years, and continuing to add value to our members, through advocacy and the forging of partnerships with various stakeholders, including government and civil society.

The growth and relevance of the PSOJ has improved because of the many committed Hall of Famers, presidents, and members, who have contributed by way of council executive, committees, and general support. It is this commitment from our membership base that has seen the PSOJ grow from strength to strength, and we want to say a big thank you to those who have contributed and continue to do so. I am also grateful to the staff of the PSOJ for their sterling contribution over the years. They continue to be a tower of strength for the organisation.

The PSOJ continues to focus on advocacy for a better business environment for our membership base, and currently do so through the Corporate Governance, Economic Policy, Energy and Environment, Membership, Listed Companies, and National Security and Justice Committees at the operational level, and the council, executive, and officers at a higher level. By representing most of the major companies and associations in Jamaica, we are able to keep our fingers on the pulse of what is needed to drive investments in Jamaica.

The partnerships between the PSOJ, Government, and civil society groups continue to prove very rewarding, and through these partnerships we have been able to see improvements in the business and social environment. As such, we remain committed to continuing these collaborations.

The PSOJ once again thanks the membership for their continued support, and the Government and other stakeholder groups in Jamaica for the continuing partnership as we work together to ensure that Jamaica is the place of choice to do business.
