GRAMMY AWARD-winning reggae band Morgan Heritage is gearing up for their upcoming ‘So Amazing’ US tour, which will see them travelling to Africa, Europe and North America in celebration of their Grammy win.

According to band member Mojo Morgan, the tour was inevitable since the Grammy award-winning album Strictly Roots was well received by reggae fans around the world. The tour will commence in Florida, followed by Europe in July 2016.

“After our stadium tour in Africa in the spring, this summer we embark on a tour of festivals and clubs across Europe and North America. For us touring is second nature, but touring behind the level of success of Strictly Roots is a first for us. Needless to say, we’re enjoying the journey and grateful for the continued love and support of our fans around the world,” Mojo Morgan told The Gleaner.

The Strictly Roots album provided the first Grammy win for the iconic band. The selfproduced project also spent several weeks on the Billboard Reggae Chart and eventually shook off some competition from the likes of Jah Cure, Barrington Levy and Luciano to capture top honours at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

Morgan Heritage has shared the stage with some of rock, soul, pop and afrobeat’s biggest acts and for the So Amazing US tour the band will join forces with Laza Morgan, Jemere Morgan and foreign bands The Skints and The Wheeland Brothers.

Mojo Morgan also said that the acts to be featured on the tour represents reggae’s future.

“The So Amazing US summer tour, will also feature some amazing talent from Jamaica, the US and the UK. Reggae music is global and we wanted to continue to display the globalisation of reggae music by sharing our stage with young, talented reggae artistes and artistes who are influenced by reggae artistes. The acts we will be featuring give us confidence that the future of the music is very bright,” Mojo added.

The band is comprised of siblings Peetah Morgan (vocals), Una Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Gramps Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Lukes Morgan (rhythm guitar) and Mojo Morgan (percussion/vocals).

Morgan Heritage is one of the most sought-after reggae bands globally. They also wrapped up 2015 with a tour of Asia, Europe, Africa, the US, and the Caribbean. The tour was titled ‘Cool To Be Conscious’.

Needless to say, we’re enjoying the journey and grateful for the continued love and support of our fans around the world”
