A true woman of God

OCTOBER 4, 1939 was a blessed day for Leslie and Doris Robinson as they welcomed their firstborn, Norma Leonie Robinson, into the world.

As Norma grew and matured, it became apparent that this was no ordinary person because she radiated such joy and love to all who came in contact with her.

She lived in Jamaica for a number of years until her dream of becoming a nurse took her to England.

It was difficult to leave her family behind, but she was determined to make a better life for herself and her family.

She was resilient; she used her job as a pharmacy technician as a stepping stone into nursing, then moved on to several other careers.

She was a hard worker and a family-oriented person.

She grew her children in the fear of the Lord and was known as a very strict disciplinarian.

Her emphasis was on impeccable manners and Christian principles. After establishing her family in England, Norma returned to Jamaica.

She returned with a new zeal to serve God. She became actively involved in the ministry of The Emanuel Hope Restored Church in Spaldings, Clarendon, where she was a member of the Women’s Ministry, a Sunday school teacher, and choir leader.

Norma will be remembered as a true woman of God who was well respected by everyone with whom she came into contact.

Her children, Joyce, Sylvia, Barbara, Christine, Jewlee, Wendy and Richard; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and a host of other family members and friends mourn, but are assured that she has found eternal rest.
