Kaje Green is happy for the birth of his little brother, and also because his mother never contracted the Zika virus while pregnant. His efforts could have played a part in this, as he has been doing his part in preventing and eliminating mosquito-breeding sites in his community of Boscobel. “I’m currently emptying all water bottles, burning old clothing, making sure all the containers in my yard are clean and empty, and putting bleach in them if it's necessary,” he responded to Gleaner queries. “I take the threat of Zika virus seriously because my friend was actually infected by it and I saw what it did to him, so I’m taking it very seriously. I encourage others to take precautionary steps; just do what you have to do, because the Zika virus is very serious.”
