Indulge in the Red Stripe Beer-Fi experience

AS THE demand for wireless connectivity in public spaces grows, Red Stripe has launched BeerFi, an initiative that provides free Wi-Fi for patrons at community bars.
“In today’s world, one of the first things people want to know when they walk into a new place is whether there’s Wi-Fi. So we’re responding to what we know our consumers want,” said Rory Burchenson, Red Stripe’s innovation and digital marketing manager.
Burchenson and his team created some excitement at the Clock Tower Tavern in HalfWay Tree over the busy Emancipation weekend, and if the response of patrons is anything to go by, Beer-Fi was an instant hit.

“Summer 2016 is chock-full of excitement and our consumers now have the freedom to go to their favourite bar, while keeping the link on Facebook and other social media,” said Burchenson.
With music by DJ Lincoln and drink specials throughout the day, the patrons were fully engaged and entertained.
“I enjoy coming to this bar and ordering a Red Stripe beer,” said Greg Savage, a regular at the Clock Tower spot. “Now with the free Wi-Fi, when I come to the Tavern, I can keep in touch with friends on Facebook and Whatsapp, thanks to Red Stripe.”
Patrons at other popular Corporate Area bars like Betty’s Lounge on Ken Hill Drive and Self Made Bar on Waltham Park Road are also revelling in the Beer-Fi experience.
“We launched Beer-Fi in time for the Olympic Games of Summer 2016, but it’s an initiative that patrons will be able to enjoy for the rest of the year and beyond, whether they’re here in the heart of the capital or at their favourite bar in Runaway Bay, May Pen or Mandeville,” said Burchenson.
Beer-Fi is also available at locations in St Catherine, St Elizabeth and Trelawny.
