Paymaster invests $20m in bill-payment website

PAYMASTER HAS invested $20 million in a new website, making it easier for the Jamaican diaspora to directly pay bills for their families back home.
With an estimated 19 per cent of global remittances used for bill payments, 14 per cent for education and seven per cent for medical bills, Paymaster can collect payments in all those categories, allowing the sender to direct the payment precisely where it is needed.
At the click of a button, members of the Jamaican community abroad can save their families time and ensure that the right bills get paid on time, Paymaster said in a release.

General Manager Michael Fisher said “the feedback we received from the diaspora in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom was that they wanted to be able to pay their families’ bills back home with ease and to direct payments to the areas where they are needed most”.
Paymaster allows payments for all major utilities in addition to school fees, hospital bills, microfinance payments and many more.
Fisher added: “This recent investment displays Paymasters’ commitment to the Jamaican diaspora community, giving them simple, direct control of their personal investment in their families’ health, education and well-being.
