Saint Int'l Avant Grade and Fashion Face of the Caribbean 2017
IT WAS a night to celebrate fashion, magic, style, elegance, glamour and ambition at the Courtleigh Auditorium Saturday, March 25.
Forty-five females and 63 males strutted the runway in hopes of walking away as the 2017 Fashion Face of the Caribbean winner. Alongside the aspiring faces of fashion were 13 designers vying for the title of the Campari and LASCO Money-sponsored Avant Garde Designer of the Year award.
With a packed night of events, CEO of Saint International Deiwght Peters and his co-host, Sharee Elise, warmed up the audience with a few dance moves from the ’80s, before the model hopefuls took to the stage to convince the elite panel of 10 international fashion agents that they have what it takes to be the next international model sensation from ‘Jamrock’. In the end, Breana Carson and Mario Grant emerged victorious with Grant and his runner-up, Jahmar Thompson, being signed on the spot.
Taking a break from fashion was the DP Patois Challenge, which tested the Patois skill of the agents. This had guests in stitches as many failed gracefully at the challenge.
AVANT GARDE COMPETITION
The designers in the Avant Garde competition presented designs inspired by the colour magenta. It was evident that they were inspired presenting out-of-the-box designs that caught many by surprise.
