Campion, PROVEN Wealth golf tourney on today

LOCAL GOLFERS will have the opportunit­y to take home many great prizes, including airline tickets from Fly Jamaica to any destinatio­n, as well as contribute to the education of some of Jamaica’s brightest students in today’s Campion College Home School Associatio­n’s golf tournament at the Constant Spring Golf Club.

The tournament, which is being presented in associatio­n with PROVEN Wealth and sanctioned by the Jamaica Golf Associatio­n, has a two-ball better ball full handicap format and is expected to feature some 48 men, ladies and mixed junior teams.

“We at PROVEN Wealth are truly delighted to be on board for this year’s staging of the HSA Golf Tournament, particular­ly because we know the impact that the funds raised will have. We are firmly committed to community developmen­t and recognise that this starts with the developmen­t of the nation’s young minds, through education along with social and soft skills,” said Michelle Tracey, assistant manager, marketing , at PROVEN Wealth.

Eighty golfers are expected to compete in teams of two, for the best overall team that will win tickets on Fly Jamaica. Other team and individual prizes include: weekends at Couples, Jamaica Inn, Jakes and Sandals resorts; gourmet meals at the Jamaica Pegasus, Cannonball Cafe, Tracks & Records; rounds of golf at Cinnamon Hill, White Witch, Tryall, Half Moon and Sandals Upton; and many other special gifts from Honey Bun, Loshusan, Associated Manufactur­ers Ltd, Meat Experts, Island Art, JL Golf, WB Trophies, Innovative Systems, Cafe Blue, Ramsons and King Alarm.

“The support for the tournament has been excellent,” said tournament chairperso­n Jodi Munn-Barrow, who is herself a Campionite and former top female golfer.

First tee off time is 8:30 a.m. All proceeds from the event will be used to expand the Sixth Form Block at the school.
