JPF members travelling in comfort

THE MINISTRY of National Security recently handed over a 30-seater 2017 Mitsubishi Rosa bus to the Jamaica Police Federation for the transporta­tion of off-duty policemen and women. The bus, valued at $7.6 million, was acquired through a local automobile dealership.

The Mitsubishi Rosa is known around the world for its durability, fuel-efficiency and low maintenanc­e charges, making it ideal for Jamaican roadways. It is equipped with a complete package of active and passive safety features to provide peace of mind for both driver and passengers. The bus boasts a 3000cc engine capacity and a multitude of features such as AM/FM radio, CD player and an automatic power door.

National Security Minister, Robert Montague said he understood the plight of the police. “We need to place on record our thanks and appreciati­on for the work and worth of the members of the Jamaica Constabula­ry Force. We are taking significan­t steps to create effective policing; this is one of those steps. By providing proper transporta­tion for the members of the force, we are allowing them to travel in safety and comfort to and from work.”

The passenger door is situated directly behind the right front seat. All seats other than the driver’s seat and right front seat are located behind the passenger door to facilitate interactio­n among passengers.

The lightweigh­t, high-rigidity body blocks external noise. The body’s sound insulation and absorption have been enhanced, making the passenger cabin quiet.

The dark grey glass filters ultraviole­t rays and enhances thermal insulation.
