IMAGINE ALL the ways you could tantalise your palate. Then multiply that by 10, and then throw in the fact that you can indulge both day and night. That’s the essence of Escape 24/7.

The eatery opened its doors 14 years ago, and hasn’t looked back since. While they are known as one of the hottest party venues on the Hip Strip of New Kingston, they provide so much more than frolic.

Food has become their main focus for those venturing in and around the Corporate Area daily. According to owner André Fraser, there are different signatures dishes on different days. “For instance, there is always a soup of the day, oxtail is freshly prepared on a Friday, while fried chicken is one of our daily staples.”

Food escaped to their Knutsford Boulevard location last Friday afternoon, where we were treated to the ultimate

dining experience! The quaint oasis, not only reminded us just how hungry we were with their sweet aromas, but it catered to the well-needed rest and relaxation we needed as well. After meeting with Fraser, who offered us a ‘cool’ welcome, he gave us a taste of their delectable dishes and exotic cocktails.

The mannish water whetted our appetite for so much more. From there, one by one, curried goat with rice and peas, creamy chicken pasta, sweet and sour fish with bammy, as well as rice and peas with fried chicken followed in quick succession! So many to choose from, so little time to savour the flavours! Of course, I attempted

to taste my way through, relishing in the flavours and spices of each dish as they collided with the sounds of “hmms” echoing with each blissful bite.

COCKTAILS

During all this, mixologist Wayne James got right to work and mixed things up, creating not one, not two, but five intoxicating cocktails. BahamaMama, Skyy Blue, Green Bird of Happiness with J. Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum and Appleton Genesis and Campari Squeeze, did not disappoint in bringing out the high spirits in everyone! And as a euphoric bonus, I was told that it was cake day, and that I would be treated to their free signature birthday drink called Blow job. It was fruity, creamy and did it’s job of intoxicating the taste buds upon impact.

So, if you’re seeking that getaway from the hustle and bustle of life, in a nice, clean setting, then Escape is the place to be. Remember, they’re open 24 hours seven days of the week – this includes their kitchen, too.
