Alborosie releases ‘Freedom & Fyah’ in dub
All the tracks on Freedom In Dub were composed, played, produced, and mixed by Alborosie from his Shengen studio in Kingston.
INTERNATIONAL REGGAE star Alborosie returns with a fresh release, Freedom In Dub, the dub reimagining of his celebrated Freedom and Fyah album.
The self-proclaimed ‘Dub Mechanic’, Alborosie has demonstrated his production and remix skills on multiple projects including Dub The System, (counterpart to the 2013 release Sound The System) and Dub Of Thrones, with King Jammy in 2015.
With his sixth album for Greensleeves, the 40-year-old Italian artiste-producer takes the listener to the roots of reggae music: drum and bass.
Having built his reputation with a decidedly analog approach for delivering authentic reggae sounds, all the tracks on Freedom In Dub were composed, played, produced, and mixed by Alborosie from his Shengen studio in Kingston.
Beyond his work in the studio, Alborosie, or Alberto D’Ascola, is an expert stage performer with a growing reputation for topflight stage production. His recent New York concert debut at BB King Blues Club in June won the artiste a host of new supporters.
Touring in Central and South America as well as a stint in Brazil with Ky-Mani Marley will round out the performer’s schedule through year end.
