A GRATEFUL DOCTOR SAYS THANKS

-

THIS MONTH marks the 30th year that I have practised orthodontics in the land of my birth. I graduated from dental school and completed my orthodontic residency some years earlier in foreign lands, and I was also given the opportunity to practise briefly in the United States. I have been a member of and held office in many professional organisations and associations.

I am deeply indebted to all those who made it possible for me to embark on this journey, especially my parents, now passed on, but also to all of those who gave me a chance or accepted me into a programme on good faith, including patients who still come every day and bless me with the opportunity to care for them. I have had an extraordinarily good run, and I am grateful that I have this opportunity to say thank you!

LOYAL & DEDICATED TEAM

Many thanks also to my staff members, some of whom have been with me from the very start. I have been blessed with a loyal and dedicated team and each one of you is a valued member of the Islandsmiles family.

I am well past the midpoint of my professional career, and my concerns at this point are to ensure that the young men and women entering my profession will be able to surpass my achievements and the achievements of my generation. That the profession and professionalism will not only survive, but thrive; that excellence and not mediocrity will hold sway; and that integrity will be the order of the day. For in this way, and in this way only, can Jamaica and Jamaicans be well served by dentistry.
