Formula for success

IEXPRESS heartfelt congratulations to the NCB Employees Co-operative Credit Union on the celebration of 25 years of stewardship. An anniversary for any institution is an important milestone and one that is deserving of celebration, evaluation and reflection.

Guided by its mission: ‘to build wealth for our members’, the NCB Employees Co-operative Credit Union must be lauded for its accomplishments over the past 25 years. During its years of existence, the credit union has remained faithful to its core function, which is to provide innovative financial solutions for members. Its focus on high standards of customer service, community involvement, and embracing members from other areas of the financial sector form part of the formula that has made this organisation the success it has been over the years.

Many Jamaicans continue to reap the benefits of membership in a credit union. In this the 55th year of Independence, the legacy of the movement is reflected in the lives that have been transformed and dreams that have been accomplished because of the cooperative support which these institutions offer. Credit union members must therefore be commended for consistently demonstrating that they are their brothers’ keeper. The consistent increase in membership across credit unions attests to their capacity to respond to the real needs of their clients.
